Are There Any Benefits To Filing Early?

Lots of people wonder whether there are any benefits to filing taxes early.  The main benefit is that if you're expecting a refund (as most people do), then you'll get it sooner.  A more subtle benefit (or more like a penalty for waiting till the last minute) is that if you need to hire someone to help with your taxes, they're likely to charge you more if you wait until the last minute.
